YouTuber and broadcaster Dex’s agency has issued a warning regarding fake ads using deepfake technology.
On the 23rd of August, Dex’s agency issued a statement addressing the recent issue.
They stated, “Recently, illegal gambling game advertisements impersonating Dex through deepfake and AI technology have been circulating indiscriminately on online communities, YouTube, and social media platforms.”
The agency emphasized, “Dex has never participated in advertisements for illegal gambling game apps, and these ads are fake videos created based on footage from his past appearances.” They urged fans to report these illegal fake ads immediately and exercise caution to avoid falling victim to them.
The agency also affirmed its commitment to protecting the rights of its artists, stating that they will continue to monitor the situation closely and respond firmly to such incidents.
Meanwhile, Dex is actively appearing in various entertainment programs and is considered one of the biggest rising variety stars, he is also venturing into acting.
