The Shocking Case Of A 24-Year-Old DJ Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison For Causing Fatal Accident Drunk Driving
DJ Yesong (24, Ahn Ye Song), who was sentenced to 10 years in prison in the first trial for causing a fatal accident while driving under the influence in the heart of Gangnam, Seoul, appealed on the 10th off July.
Ahn Ye Song’s legal representative, lawyer Ahn Wang Sun (from the law firm Dong Seo Nam Buk), submitted the appeal to the judge. The court had sentenced Ahn to 10 years in prison recently.
Ahn was brought to trial for driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.221% around 4:40 a.m. on February 3rd, and crashing into a motorcycle ahead of her, causing the death of the rider.
The victim, a delivery worker in his 50s, was taken to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest but eventually died.
During the final hearing in June, the prosecution requested a 15-year prison sentence for Ahn.
Ahn’s lawyer emphasized, “Ahn has demonstrated exceptional talent in the entertainment field, performing overseas in countries such as China, Thailand, and Taiwan, contributing to the national prestige. She has deeply reflected on her actions every day and has submitted 75 letters of apology.”
