WAS ELLE UK Racist Towards BLACPINK’s Rosé? Magazine Issues Apology Over Recent Post

British magazine Elle UK apologized for allegations of racial discrimination against BLACKPINK’s Rosé.

Elle UK posted a statement recently, saying, “We sincerely apologize regarding the recent Paris Fashion Week post.”

Elle UK had shared a group photo of Hailey Bieber, Zoë Kravitz, Charlie XCX, and Rosé, but only Rosé was cropped out. Charlie XCX posted a photo showing Rosé under a dark shadow, sparking allegations of racial discrimination.

In video footage from the event, Rosé also appeared isolated from the other three. While Hailey Bieber, Zoë Kravitz, and Charlie XCX engaged in conversation in the front row during the Saint Laurent show, Rosé stayed silent or looked down, which angered fans.

After strong backlash from fans, Elle UK quickly posted a solo photo of Rosé, but it did not fully appease the outraged fanbase.

Eventually, Elle UK explained, “BLACKPINK’s Rosé was cropped from the group photo to adjust the size of the image. There was absolutely no intent to offend anyone.”

They added, “The post has been deleted. Elle UK promises to ensure our content fully respects and reflects the diversity of our audience going forward.”
