The Famous Kpop Idol Who Has Been Selected As A Torchbearer For The 2026 Winter Olympics
ENHYPEN’s Sunghoon has been selected as a torchbearer for the 2026 Milan–Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics.
According to reports on January 23, Sunghoon is scheduled to take part in the Olympic torch relay on February 6 (local time) in Milan, Italy. Specific details regarding the exact route and timing of his segment have not yet been officially announced.
Sunghoon is currently active as a promotional ambassador for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee. Before debuting as an idol, he was a member of the national figure skating reserve team, giving him a long-standing connection to sports. He also attended the Korean athletes’ send-off ceremony on January 22, where he delivered words of encouragement to boost team morale.
A KSOC official stated that the committee was not directly involved in the torch relay selection process, noting that related procedures were handled by Sunghoon’s agency. ENHYPEN’s agency BELIFT LAB commented that they are “checking the details.”
The 2026 Milan–Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics will be held from February 6 to 22 across Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, featuring around 2,900 athletes from 90 countries competing in 8 sports and 16 disciplines for a total of 116 gold medals. South Korea has confirmed 71 athletes across multiple events as of January 23.
