EXO’s Xiumin Japan Performance Canceled After Agency Uncovers Alleged Fraudulent Event Contract
EXO member Xiumin‘s scheduled performance in Japan has been canceled after his agency discovered an alleged fraudulent contract related to the event.
On the 5th of June, Xiumin’s agency INB100 announced that his appearance at the “Asia Culture Festival 2026,” which was scheduled to take place on September 9 and 10 at the Tokyo Garden Theater in Japan, had been put on hold after inappropriate issues were discovered during the artist booking process.
INB100 explained, “For the purpose of booking Xiumin for this event, the organizers signed a contract on April 27 with another company that was not our agency.”
According to the agency, the company falsely identified itself in the contract as Xiumin’s management agency and acted as though it had an exclusive contract with him. Following verification by the Japanese event organizers, it was discovered that the company was not actually Xiumin’s agency and had falsely claimed authority. It was reportedly only lending its bank account to facilitate commission payments for another intermediary.
The event organizers later determined the matter to be fraudulent and immediately canceled their contract with the company, resulting in Xiumin’s appearance being put on hold.
However, INB100 stressed that neither Xiumin nor the organizers were involved in the alleged wrongdoing.
“The event organizers are also victims who genuinely believed the contract with that company was legitimate and prepared for the event in good faith,” the agency stated. “We sincerely ask people to refrain from misunderstandings or speculation directed toward the organizers or the artist.”
The agency added that it plans to take strong legal action without leniency against all individuals involved in the alleged fraudulent activities.
