Fin.K.L is making a comeback. Lee Hyori, Ok Joo Hyun, Lee Jin, and Sung Yuri are set to begin full-group activities under the name “Fin.K.L” for the first time in 21 years.

Gemstone i&M announced on the 21st, “We are preparing full-group activities for Fin.K.L together with all four members, Lee Hyori, Ok Joo Hyun, Lee Jin, and Sung Yuri.”

This marks the first time in about 21 years that the four have carried out official activities under the Fin.K.L name, since their 2005 digital single “Forever Fin.K.L.”

The four members have, of course, come together before. They reunited as a full group in 2019 through JTBC’s “Camping Club” and released a new song at the time to mark their 21st debut anniversary. However, according to an industry insider, while that reunion was closer to a special project tied to the broadcast, this new activity is meant to be a fresh start aimed at sustained, ongoing group promotions.

Debuting in 1998, Fin.K.L led the golden age of first-generation girl groups with a string of hits including “Blue Rain,” “To My Boyfriend,” “Eternal Love,” and “Now.” The group earned widespread popularity by continually evolving their image, from innocent concepts to bolder ones.

After their group activities wound down, the four members went their separate ways. Lee Hyori built a career as a solo singer and broadcaster, while Ok Joo Hyun established herself primarily on the musical stage. Lee Jin and Sung Yuri have continued working in acting and broadcasting.

With the four now coming back together as one team after years of activity in their own respective fields, there’s growing interest in exactly what kind of stage they’ll present. Specific plans, including any new music or performances, have not yet been revealed.

This new chapter of activities will be organized and managed by Gemstone i&M in collaboration with the four members and their respective agencies. Gemstone i&M stated, “We plan to roll out a variety of activities one by one, so that we can create new moments together with the fans who have waited so long for Fin.K.L.”
