Popular Kpop Idol Says Her Mother Saved Her Following Her Controversy Over Propofol Use

Ga In, a member of the group Brown Eyed Girls, has spoken up about her feelings for the first time in 5 years since the controversy over her propofol use.

Recently, Ga In appeared on Im Seulong’s YouTube channel “Ongstyle” to talk about various things and brought up her past controversy.

In 2019, Ga In was caught for the illegal use of the psychotropic drug propofol and was sentenced to a fine in 2020.

Ga In began by saying, “There was a bit of an incident. Mentally and health-wise, I was in very bad shape. Things like depression, insomnia, and panic disorder are things that often come to us just from doing our work. I kept spending time at home.”

Mentioning her mother, Ga In said, “My mom was running a store, and she dragged me out. There were about 6–7 employees, and it was during a time when bad articles about me were coming out. That one week was torture. They must have all seen the articles about me, and just working with those people was really hard.”

She added, “Work started around 3–4 PM and ended around 11–12 at night. Since I had to go to work the next day too, there was no room to feel lonely even after coming home. The way my mom made me do that—that way of educating me—really suited me. I feel like I might cry. My mom must’ve had a hard time behind the scenes too. I think that moment is what saved me now,” she said, expressing her regret.

Ga In has mostly remained out of the spotlight following her drug use controversy. Many fans are happy to hear she’s doing well.
