G-Dragon Files Lawsuits Against Around 100 Individuals Including Operators Of Online Media Outlets
G-Dragon has filed lawsuits against around 100 individuals, including malicious commenters, on charges of defamation, and it has been revealed that the scope of the lawsuits has expanded to include operators of online media outlets.
According to the legal community, the ongoing defamation case by G-Dragon’s side reportedly includes operators of certain online outlets that had previously published speculative reports. Multiple legal sources stated that, in addition to malicious commenters, a specific media outlet operator was recently added to the list of those being sued.
The outlet in question had previously published articles raising various allegations based on G-Dragon’s visits to certain locations. It is also confirmed that this outlet is registered as a periodical publication and had a past dispute with HYBE and the Media Arbitration Commission in 2023 over reports related to BTS.
Following a police investigation, G-Dragon was cleared of all charges, effectively closing the related allegations.
After the investigation results, G-Dragon’s side announced a strong stance against the spread of false information and defamation and has continued filing lawsuits against those who posted such content online. Regarding this, his agency told MHN that they are “currently checking the details,” taking a cautious position.
However, within legal circles, there is speculation that the agency’s “under review” stance may indicate internal discussions about the scope of the lawsuits and the level of public disclosure. In particular, there are analyses suggesting that careful consideration is being made, as expanding the targets beyond individuals to content producers could have a significant impact.
As of now, the exact list and scope of those being sued have not been officially confirmed, and further verification is needed.
