TRENDING: Girls’ Generation’s Yuri Confirmed to Be Leaving SM Entertainment After 19 Years

Girls’ Generation member and actress Yuri is leaving SM Entertainment.

On July 31, SM Entertainment released an official statement saying, “We have mutually agreed with Yuri to conclude our 19-year journey together as of August 31.”

The agency continued, “Since her 2007 debut with Girls’ Generation, Yuri has led the global K-pop wave and grown into a member of a group that represents its era, while also shining as an actress — it has been a precious time for SM Entertainment to be part of that entire journey,” adding, “We extend our deep gratitude to Yuri, who has shown dazzling talent as an ‘all-around artist’ across music, acting, variety shows, and hosting.”

SM Entertainment noted that while its exclusive contract with Yuri has ended, her activities as a member of Girls’ Generation will continue unchanged. The agency added, “We will continue to support Yuri as she embarks on this new journey.”
