Famous Girl Group Member Opens Up About Past Failed Business Venture In LA
Girls’ Generation‘s Hyoyeon shared her experience of a business failure.
On the October 4th broadcast of SBS Power FM’s Escape at 2PM Cultwo Show (hereafter Cultwo Show), Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon and singer Brian appeared as guests.
During the show, DJ Kim Tae Kyun asked, “Hyoyeon, have you ever tried running a business?” to which Hyoyeon revealed, “I once opened a dumpling and buckwheat noodle shop in LA,” surprising everyone. She added, “I didn’t go there myself; my brother and parents ran it, but my parents had visa issues, so my brother and his wife ended up running the business.”
Hyoyeon went on to explain, “At that time, the temperature in LA stayed between 10 to 17 degrees Celsius year-round. Normally, LA is always hot, right? But when I checked the CCTV, I saw people wearing long sleeves and padded jackets. Buckwheat noodles sell well in summer, but in the end, the business failed.”
She added, “The upkeep costs, along with my brother’s house expenses, were enormous. I’ll never try doing business again,” she said, sharing her bitter experience with a laugh.
