Famous Kpop Idol Reveals He Was Caught Dating As A Trainee, How He Protested To His Label

GOT7’s Jackson shared a surprising story from his trainee days.

On March 24, Jackson appeared on the YouTube channel Donghaemul and Baekdueunhyuk, where he confessed that he was caught dating as a trainee by a company employee.

Jackson recalled, “I asked the director of JYP’s rookie development team, ‘Why don’t you allow real love?’ Now that I think about it, it was ridiculous.”

He continued, “I told them I could make sure it wouldn’t affect my career, but they made me write a letter of reflection.”

When Eunhyuk asked, “Wait, this wasn’t after your debut, but when you were still a trainee?” Jackson confidently responded, “Yes, I was a trainee,” making everyone laugh.

Jackson added, “JYP was really strict about this. They told me, ‘We want you to focus only on your work while preparing to be an artist.’”

Eunhyuk then asked, “So, did you stop dating after that?” Jackson admitted, “Honestly, after that, I really didn’t date again,” wrapping up his story with a self-exposé.

A former Hong Kong national fencing athlete, Jackson debuted with GOT7 in 2014. With his witty charm, he gained recognition through various entertainment programs.

After their exclusive contracts expired in 2021, all the members left JYP, but they continue both their individual activities and group promotions.
