Controversial Former K-pop Trainee Admits Her “Boyfriend” Photos Were Completely Fake

A controversial former K-pop idol trainee has revealed that her rumored romance with a foreign model wasn’t actually real.

On August 3, Han Seo Hee posted on her SNS, “I don’t have a boyfriend or anything like that. You guys are my significant other.”

In a video posted alongside it, Han Seo Hee is seen acting alongside the foreign man she’d recently called her “boyfriend,” for an advertisement for a fortune-telling site.

Addressing this, Han Seo Hee explained, “I told you I was going to Paris for work. I didn’t expect it to get dug up like this,” adding, “I just wanted to film a Reels video. He said he was fine with it, so we filmed it.”

Earlier, Han Seo Hee had posted several couple photos with a foreign model, in what appeared to be a post confirming a relationship.

As speculation about the man grew, Han Seo Hee posted on August 2, “Thank you for all the interest in my man. But please don’t make up weird rumors. He’s a normal guy.”

However, the relationship turned out not to be real — the post had been Han Seo Hee pretending to date a man she’d met for an ad shoot.

Amid the backlash, one netizen commented, “If your ‘rental boyfriend’ hadn’t gotten caught, you would’ve kept pretending, wouldn’t you? Have a drink,” to which Han Seo Hee responded, “I didn’t pay him anything. He was happy to do it, so I bought him a meal out of gratitude. Please stop.”

Han Seo Hee also wrote, “Honestly, I thought I’d get more support from women, but it was the opposite, which was confusing since it was content made for women,” adding, “But that’s how it goes. Life doesn’t always go the way you want it to — that’s what makes it interesting. I’ll just enjoy it from here.”

Born in 1995, Han Seo Hee first made a name for herself appearing on MBC’s “Star Audition: The Great Birth 3.” She was previously sentenced to prison time for marijuana use alongside former Big Bang member T.O.P, and was released in 2023.
