Popular OG Idol Shocks With Honesty About Past Relationship Reveal On TV
Super Junior member Kim Heechul drew attention after honestly sharing stories from his past relationships, heating up the atmosphere on set.
On the 11th of June, the production team of JTBC’s new variety show “Love War” uploaded a teaser video through the official channel about two weeks before its premiere. The program, which will be unveiled on the 23rd, features Lee Hyo Ri, Seo Jang Hoon, and Kim Heechul offering unfiltered advice on love while reviewing stories of couples on the verge of breaking up. The honest conversations between the three hosts are expected to provide insight into the guests’ real-life relationship values.
In the newly released teaser, Kim Heechul especially captured viewers’ attention with a dramatic shift in attitude. At first, he said casually, “Sorry, but I’m an idol, so I don’t really know about dating. I’m 44, but I still don’t know.” He tried to maintain his idol image, but soon dropped his cautious stance and began speaking more openly. He even suggested a blunt solution, saying, “Just kiss once,” and shocked everyone by revealing, “My first relationship was with an older woman I met at a nightclub,” instantly changing the mood of the conversation.
Kim Heechul continued sharing his past. Recalling old memories, he said, “I was happy when my girlfriend paid for my PC room time,” reminiscing about simpler days of dating. He also expressed sincere emotions, saying, “Just thinking about going to see my girlfriend made me excited from the moment I held the steering wheel.”
He further explained that despite his busy schedule, he never neglected contacting his partner, adding, “Even when I was about to go into a ‘Star King’ recording, I would still somehow send a message saying I’m going into filming.” Lee Hyo Ri responded humorously, saying, “I guess your ex-girlfriend must have been the leader of some girl group,” and joked, “Today is going to be fun. I’ll strip everything down and make this controversial,” causing laughter on set.
JTBC’s “Love War,” which realistically explores the psychology of couples, will air its first episode on Tuesday, the 23rd at 8:50 PM.
