Popular Boy Group Finally Secures Rights Of Their Group Name 9 Years After Their Re-Debut
Highlight (Yoon Doojoon, Yang Yoseob, Lee Gikwang, Son Dongwoon) is set to release the pre-release track “Empty Ending” from their upcoming sixth mini album “From Real to Surreal” under their former group name BEAST after securing the rights to their group name!
This marks the first new song to be officially released under the name BEAST in nearly nine years since their last full album “Highlight” in 2016. Following the announcement last year that they had reached an agreement to use the BEAST trademark again, the group is making a meaningful move by releasing “Empty Ending” ahead of their full mini album comeback as BEAST.
With “Empty Ending,” Highlight reconnects with fans through a wave of nostalgia, reaffirming their solid musicality and deep sincerity. This significant and sentimental release allows both the members and longtime fans to reflect on their shared journey and celebrate their enduring bond.
“Empty Ending” is a ballad that uses the metaphor of a film ending to express the regret of a breakup and the longing for memories of a past relationship. Highlight delivers a rich, layered emotional performance with modern sensibilities, blending their harmonious vocal tones to create a deeply immersive experience.
The pre-release single “Empty Ending” under the BEAST name will be available on all major streaming platforms starting at 6 p.m. KST on April 16.
Highlight’s full sixth mini album “From Real to Surreal” is scheduled for official release at 6 p.m. KST on April 28.
