Two Of The Biggest Korean Dancers Under Fire For Controversial Remarks And For Swearing On Video, Both Issue Apology Statements

Dancers Honey J and Aiki have issued public apologies for their controversial remarks.

Currently appearing as members of Team Korea BUMSUP on Mnet’s “World of Dance: Street Woman Fighter”, the two dancers came under fire after a reaction video for Episode 1 was uploaded to fellow team member Hyojin Choi’s personal YouTube channel on June 21.

In the now-deleted video, Honey J was seen making a remark while watching a rival team’s performance, saying, “Is that dancing? That’s just Sex,”—a comment that has been widely criticized as sexually inappropriate. Aiki also drew backlash for using profanity, reportedly saying, “You f**ing B-tch.”*

In response, Honey J took to social media early on June 22 to apologize:

“I sincerely apologize to everyone hurt by my careless words and to all those who have supported me. I deeply regret having caused disappointment and discomfort.
We were casually gathered to watch the first broadcast of SWF together, and in that relaxed setting, I got too immersed in the moment and reacted strongly toward a fellow dancer. I fully recognize that my thoughtless words made many viewers uncomfortable.”

She added:

“I personally apologized to the dancer involved as soon as I realized the situation. Though they may have been offended, they were gracious in understanding, and I want to express my deep regret again. This was entirely my fault for not recognizing the weight of my words.
Through this experience, I’ve come to truly understand how even a single word can have a significant impact. I will take all criticism seriously and act with more care and thoughtfulness going forward.”

Aiki also released a statement on her social media:

“I sincerely apologize to those who felt uncomfortable due to my emotionally charged language. I’ve realized once again that even if strong emotions stem from passion for the stage, I must be careful not to let them harm others.
I offer my apologies again to the opposing crew. I will communicate more sensitively no matter the situation and am grateful for both the sharp feedback and continued support.”
