Highly Controversial Chaebol Granddaughter Reportedly Exposes Several Celebrities For Alleged Drug Use During Police Questioning
The entertainment industry, already shaken last year by personal scandals and past controversies involving top stars like Lee Yi Kyung, Jo Se Ho, Park Na Rae, and Jo Jin Woong, now faces an even bigger “nuclear bomb” in 2026.
Reports indicate that Hwang Ha Na, the granddaughter of the founder of Namyang Dairy, named fellow celebrities during police questioning over drug-related charges, signaling the potential onset of a second “celebrity drug gate.”
According to legal and entertainment sources on the 21st of January, Hwang Ha Na, who was indicted and detained for violating the Narcotics Control Act, appears to have disclosed multiple celebrity names in an effort to reduce her sentence.
Previously, on the 19th, journalist Oh Hyuk Jin appeared on the YouTube channel ‘Jirit Jirit’ and revealed, “Hwang Ha Na specifically named both male and female entertainers during police questioning. This seems to be a form of plea bargaining aimed at covering up her own crimes or reducing her sentence.”
Hwang Ha Na had been accused in July 2023 of using methamphetamine with acquaintances and fled to Cambodia and other locations, only to be captured late last year. Oh raised suspicions regarding her return to Korea, suggesting that “something even more serious than an Interpol pursuit.”
The public was particularly outraged by her contradictory behavior. Hwang allegedly claimed to acquaintances that “her parents had cut off her credit cards and she had no money,” yet she appeared at the time of her arrest wearing a luxury padded jacket worth millions of won, shocking many.
The entertainment industry now braces for impact. Following last year’s moral controversies, speculation is mounting over which top celebrities’ names might appear on the so-called “Hwang Ha Na hit list.”
