Hyunseung is leaving the group YOUNITE.
On the 2nd of July KST, the agency Brand New Music posted a notice regarding Hyunseung’s activities and announced his departure from the group and termination of his exclusive contract via an official statement to the group’s official SNS accounts.
The agency stated, “We apologize to the fans who have shown a lot of interest and love for YOUNITE, and we are sorry to deliver this regrettable news. Hyunseung has decided to leave the team and terminate his exclusive contract with our company due to personal reasons.”
The agency added, “We apologize once again for causing concerns with this sudden news, and YOUNITE will continue its activities with 8 members in the future.”
YOUNITE is a boy group that debuted in April 2022, with the name derived from the combination of ‘YOU’ meaning ‘you’ and the word ‘UNITE’ meaning ‘together.’
In May, they made a comeback with their sixth EP ‘ANOTHER,’ and on the 15th of July, they are scheduled to hold their first fan concert ‘YOUNICAST’ at Tokyo New Pier Hall, where they will meet their local fans.
The news came as a huge shock to the fans especially since the agency does not give a reason why the idol suddenly departed the group only after two years with them.
