I.O.I Rumored Be Reuniting To Release A Song Celebrating Their 10th Debut Anniversary, Will It Truly Happen?
Rumors of a reunion for girl group I.O.I have surfaced.
On the morning of the 15th of May, one media outlet reported that I.O.I (Jeon Somi, Kim Sejeong, Choi Yoojung, Kim Chungha, Kim Sohye, Zhou Jieqiong, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Doyeon, Kang Mina, Im Nayoung, Yoo Yeonjung) is planning to release a new song next year to mark their 10th debut anniversary.
According to the outlet, the I.O.I members first expressed their intention to reunite, and recently, the members’ agency representatives gathered in one place to coordinate the timing of activities.
However, one member’s side told Star News, “Nothing has been decided about the reunion yet. But I understand that the members have expressed their intention to hold a fan meeting to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut.”
Another member’s side also told Star News, “We have not heard anything regarding I.O.I’s reunion,” being cautious with words.
I.O.I is an 11-member multinational girl group formed through Mnet’s “Produce 101,” which concluded in April 2016, and they officially debuted in May of the same year. Afterward, they ended activities in January 2017.
