Popular Kpop Group Members Admit To Settling Hierarchy With Fists, Talk About Past Fights During Promotions
The group INFINITE confessed about their past of settling hierarchy with fists.
On the 26th of February, the YouTube channel Hyoyeon’s Level Up released a video titled A Group That Settles Hierarchy with Fists on its Bap Sahyo segment.
In the video, INFINITE’s L addressed the legendary INFINITE fight meme captured at the 2013 MAMA Awards, saying, “Many people misunderstand, but we weren’t fighting. There were monitors on both sides, so we were just looking at our respective monitors.” However, Nam Woohyun revealed, “During The Chaser, we actually fought and didn’t look at each other. There’s a choreography where Sunggyu and I face each other, but we didn’t make eye contact at all—we only looked at the ground because we didn’t want to see each other’s faces.”
When Hyoyeon asked, “I heard there were rules when you fought?” L explained, “It was early in our debut, so our personalities didn’t match well. Conflicts happened, but we decided to handle it rationally. Since we had to keep working, we agreed not to hit each other’s faces.” He then admitted that he and Sungyeol tried to settle their ranking with fists.
L continued, “At that time, everything had built up too much. Even small things led to clashes, so we fought it out.” Nam Woohyun added, “At first, they only hit each other’s bodies, but then one of them came back with a split lip.” L recalled, “When I went ‘Ah!’, the fight immediately stopped, and the first thing he asked was if I was okay. After that, we really became close.” Nam Woohyun added, “After that, they never fought again. It was their first and last fight.” However, he then revealed, “I asked Sungyeol, and he said your punches felt like cotton balls.” L, taken aback, retorted, “What are you talking about? I hit harder!” drawing laughter.
Sunggyu was also dragged into their fight. He said, “Suddenly, I was told I had to come. When they called me over, I thought, ‘Are these two planning to do something to me?’ So I started warming up, thinking I had to run away quickly. Myungsoo got hurt, and they didn’t know how to tell the manager. When they asked me, I just said, ‘I don’t know either,’” adding to the humor.
