Will ITZY Renew Their Contract With JYP? Members Had This To Say
The ITZY members have answered the press questions about their pending contract renewals!
A press conference for the release of ITZY’s new mini-album “Girls Will Be Girls” was held today (9th of June) at the Sofitel Ambassador Hotel in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
The mini-album “Girls Will Be Girls” contains a total of five tracks: the title song of the same name, “Kiss & Tell”, “Locked N Loaded”, “Promise”, and “Walk.”
ITZY drew early attention with the album’s trailer, directed by renowned commercial director Yoo Kwang-gung. Producer Park Jin-young also appeared in the trailer to show his support. Member Ryujin explained, “We wanted to convey a message of solidarity through this album. As we grow older, our hearts don’t race like they used to, so we tried to capture the process of supporting each other and overcoming problems together.”
The members showcased their affection for each other and their teamwork. Yeji, who had done solo activities, shared, “While preparing for our comeback together, I realized how precious it is to be with the group. As time passes, the meaning of our members becomes more solid, and we truly rely on each other.” Yuna added, “The five of us move as one body. When we have a goal, we become one and run toward it together—that’s our driving force.”
Now in their seventh year since debut, ITZY is at the point of contract renewal. Chaeryeong said, “It still feels unreal that we’re discussing contract renewal, but we’re currently in talks with the company. We hope to deliver good news soon.”
Regardless of contract renewal, the members expressed their intention to continue pursuing both solo and group activities actively. Ryujin said, “Watching our senior artists who have stayed together for a long time with great teamwork makes us dream the same dream. We always remind ourselves to stay true to our roots and keep going until the end.”
ITZY’s new mini-album “Girls Will Be Girls” will be released on various music platforms at 6 PM today.
