Kim Jae Joong Reveals Why He Refused To Meet His Biological Father Despite Reaching Out During His Military Service

On the most recent broadcast of KBS2’s variety show “Mr. House Husband 2,” singer Kim Jae Joong opened up about his firm feelings toward his biological parents while talking with Takuya.

During the episode, Kim Jae Joong stepped in to help Takuya, whom he is close with. Believing that much of Takuya’s lifestyle was overly flashy, Kim Jae Joong humorously followed him around while offering constant advice and criticism.

Takuya then revealed that he had recently searched for and personally met his biological father.

Kim Jae Joong, who was adopted into his current family at the age of three, responded by sharing his own experience. He said, “I heard that when I was in the military, my biological father requested a visitation. I refused to meet him. He also sent me letters, but I don’t even keep them.”

He continued, “I don’t have as much courage as Takuya, nor do I have the generosity to forgive. Being able to forgive someone in life is truly an incredible thing. Takuya is amazing,” openly praising him.

However, Kim Jae Joong also asked whether Takuya’s adoptive father knew about the meeting. Takuya shook his head and said no.

Kim Jae Joong then advised him, “Don’t do that. I worry about my family, and my family worries about us too.” He added, “A long time ago, I secretly met my biological mother behind my family’s back, and my whole family was turned upside down because of it. They were all very shocked.” He encouraged Takuya to gather the courage to speak honestly with his family.
