IVE’s Jang Wonyoung’s agency has stepped in to clarify the various interpretations surrounding the brand “FOREVER:CHERRY.”

On the 28th of January, amid reports that “FOREVER:CHERRY,” associated with IVE member Jang Wonyoung, had completed a trademark application—sparking speculation about a personal business venture—her agency Starship Entertainment released an official statement.

According to the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service (KIPRIS), Jang Wonyoung filed a trademark application on the 11th for the names “FOREVER:CHERRY” and “포에버:체리,” along with a cherry-shaped logo. The designated products include a total of 30 items such as cosmetics, essential oils, fragrances, massage gels, wet wipes, air fresheners, wig-fixing adhesive, and ceramic ornaments.

At the same time, Jang Wonyoung drew further attention by unveiling a mysterious account filled with pink cherry imagery on her personal SNS. Combined with her well-known fondness for cherries, the kitschy mood, and a logo design believed to incorporate the initials “ㅈㅇㅇ” into the cherry shape, speculation quickly spread among fans that it might be a beauty brand.

In response to fan’s speculations that the idol might be starting her own brand, Starship Entertainment stated through an official position, “‘FOREVER:CHERRY’ is a brand collaboration project and not Jang Wonyoung’s personal business. Because the name deeply reflects the artist’s identity and image, we proceeded with filing the trademark under Jang Wonyoung’s own name in agreement with the brand, in order to prevent indiscriminate commercial misuse by third parties after the project ends.”

Regarding the broad scope of the trademark application, the agency added, “This was a preemptive measure to prevent misuse of the artist’s image across various business sectors,” emphasizing that it was “an action taken to protect the artist’s rights and unique value.” Starship stressed that it will continue to do its utmost to protect its artists.

Meanwhile, IVE, to which Jang Wonyoung belongs, is set to release their second full-length album “REVIVE+” on February 23. As the nature of the “FOREVER:CHERRY” project has been clarified ahead of the comeback, fans’ attention is once again turning to the group’s musical activities.
