Jay Park Opens Up About Leaving 2PM For The 1st Time In 16 Years

Jay Park has surprised fans by opening up about his departure from 2PM 16 years after leaving!

Recently, the YouTube channel Eyes Magazine uploaded a video interview with Jay Park. In the video, the artist talks about his idol days, solo debut days and his current role as a CEO and producer.

About leaving 2PM at the time, he said, “I just felt sorry and apologetic, that’s all. I caused a lot of trouble and inconvenience for a lot of people. But anxiety, I really didn’t have that. I just go with the flow. I accept it, and in whatever situation I’m given, I’m the type to do my best. So I wasn’t anxious or anything.”

After Jay Park’s sudden departure from 2PM, he went back to the U.S. At the time, he began uploading to YouTube and took off, about that he said, “Back then YouTube was really taking off. I was an OG YouTuber, YouTube was booming. I wanted to share my musical taste more, so I filmed this in the bathroom with the MacBook I got as a gift, and uploaded it, and that video got 3 million views in a day.”

Jay Park also touched on the type of character he has, saying he does not really fear getting hate, “I’m not the type to be terrified of getting hate, so I think I’m just the type to do things freely. Of course I’m not rude about it. I don’t do things that hurt people, of course.” He added, “their rules not laws, but what they think are rules, like “Singers should be like this, celebrities should be like that” I don’t think I followed that.”

Jay Park originally debuted as part of 2PM and left the group a mere year after his debut. He went back to the U.S. and resumed a solo career in 2010. He has since expanded as an artist and even launched several top hip hop agencies
