Jay Park Snaps Back At Fans Who Criticized His Noticeable Involvement In LNGSHOT’s Promotional Material
Singer Jay Park has personally spoken out regarding fans’ concerns surrounding LNGSHOT, the boy group he produced.
On the 11th of June, Jay Park posted on his social media account, “Next i will officially induct myself into LNGSHOT cause that has been my goal all along and nobody can stop me cause i own the company and made the group muahahahahahahahahahaha…………………I been doin this for 20 years lol who u think knows better? Me or u? All the narratives yall paint online means NOTHING in real life. Just enjoy the music and the ride. If not watch from the sidelines. Peace and love have a blessed day. Almost done with my fast.”
In another tweet in a response to a fan, he wrote, “They have a career cause i built something to give them. Dont speak on things u do not know. Respectfully. Different than them over there Know thats 4sho 4sho.”
Recently, Jay Park joined LNGSHOT for promotions of their second mixtape, 4SHOBOIZ Vol.2 : 4SHOVILLE, and performed alongside them on music broadcast stages. However, some fans have pointed out that Jay Park is being highlighted more than LNGSHOT in terms of stage composition and directing.
In fact, during certain performances, scenes unfolded where the members cleared props before Jay Park made his entrance, or where Jay Park took center stage and grabbed the ending shots. In response, some fans reacted by saying, “Shouldn’t the members be getting more attention than their producer?”
The controversy also extended to their music. While Jay Park had only participated in a portion of the work for the first mixtape, he was credited for the lyrics, composition, and arrangement of every single track on this latest release. Consequently, some fans expressed worry that LNGSHOT’s image as a self-producing group—which was considered one of their major strengths—might become diluted.
On top of this, as plans for a joint overseas tour featuring Jay Park and LNGSHOT were recently disclosed, discussions have continued regarding the proportion of the group’s independent activities.
LNGSHOT is a four-member boy group born under the backing of Jay Park, who himself boasts a history of group promotions, a team departure, and a highly successful solo career. Debuting in January of this year, the group has been maintaining a steady upward trajectory, reaching a peak of No. 12 on the Melon HOT100 chart and surpassing 300 million cumulative streams on Spotify.
As they are a highly anticipated rookie group, fan attention regarding the balance between LNGSHOT’s independence and Jay Park’s influence is expected to persist.
