Popular Kpop Artist’s Concert Canceled After Fans Get Seated, Idol Himself Gets On Stage To Apologize
Singer Kang Daniel unexpectedly canceled his New Jersey concert just two hours before showtime during his U.S. tour.
On the 8th of September, posts appeared on online communities saying that Kang Daniel’s concert “ACT : NEW EPISODE” in Jersey City, New Jersey, had suddenly been canceled.
The concert was completely sold out, and Kang Daniel had been preparing for the stage. However, system issues were reportedly discovered during the rehearsal on the same day.
Videos quickly spread on social media showing Kang Daniel, wearing a cap and shirt, coming on stage to personally apologize to fans. Fans comforted him by saying, “It’s okay,” “You don’t need to apologize,” and “It’s not your fault.”
Kang Daniel expressed, “I don’t know what to say. I’m upset too, but I know you must be even more upset, sad, and angry than I am.”
He continued, “The tickets will be refunded by the organizers, and I hope something like this never happens to me again. This is my first time experiencing this. Someday, I want to come back to Jersey City to meet you again with more performances and more songs. I know you’re upset, but I still hope you have a good day.”
His agency released an official statement: “Although we did our best to carry out the concert, we determined that it would be difficult to provide a safe and complete stage due to unprepared local systems and unexpected operational issues.”
They added, “Despite discussions until the very end with local staff, pushing ahead with the show in such incomplete conditions could have been a bigger disservice to fans, so we had no choice but to cancel the concert. Tickets purchased through the official ticket platform will be fully and automatically refunded, and refund details will be sent by email from the respective platform.”
Kang Daniel began his North American tour in Washington on the 3rd, with stops in New York, Chicago, and LA among 12 cities. He will then expand to South America with concerts scheduled in Buenos Aires (Argentina), São Paulo (Brazil), and Mexico City to meet his fans there.
