One I.O.I Member Is Unable To Participate In The Group’s 10th Reunion, Agency Explains Why

As discussions for I.O.I’s reunion are underway, its been confirmed that one member is unable to participate!

On September 12, Kang Mina’s agency Story J Company told Ilgan Sports, “The proposed timing for the reunion activities overlaps with the filming schedule and upcoming promotional period for her new drama, so there were concerns. We are fully aware of the long wait and high expectations of fans. After extensive discussions with the artist, we decided to respect her wish to focus on acting, and concluded that it would be difficult for her to participate.”

I.O.I, formed through Mnet’s “Produce 101,” consisted of Jeon Somi, Kim Sejeong, Choi Yoojung, Kim Chungha, Kim Sohye, Kyulkyung, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Doyeon, Kang Mina, Lim Nayoung, and Yoo Yeonjung. The project group debuted in May 2016, leaving behind hits like “Pick Me” and “Very Very Very” before concluding their activities.

With their 10th anniversary approaching next year, talks of a reunion have been ongoing. Recently, Jeon Somi and Jung Chaeyeon mentioned in interviews that discussions were “positively underway,” raising fans’ anticipation.
