Kara’s Jiyoung Remembers Goo Hara On The 5th Anniversary Of Her Passing
Kara member Kang Jiyoung paid tribute to late member Goo Hara on the fifth anniversary of her passing.
On November 24, Kang Jiyoung posted a photo on her official account with the caption “ㅂㄱㅅㅇ” (an abbreviation for “보고 싶어,” meaning “I miss you”). The photo shows Kang Jiyoung and Goo Hara posing closely together, looking at the camera.
Goo Hara, who passed away on November 24, 2019, debuted with Kara in 2008 and gained massive popularity with hits like “Pretty Girl,” “Honey,” “Mister,” and “Mamma Mia.” After leaving Kara, she also made a mark as a solo artist in Korea and Japan.

In July 2023, Kara released the song “Hello,” which features Goo Hara’s voice from a recording made before her passing. It was included in their digital single “I Do I Do,” completed as a six-member version using Hara’s pre-recorded vocals.
During Kara’s reunion concerts in Japan in August, a sixth microphone was placed on stage in memory of Goo Hara, a gesture that deeply moved fans.
