KBS Finally Explains Why EXO’s Xiumin Was Not Able to Appear on “Music Bank”

KBS has released a statement regarding EXO Xiumin’s failed appearance on “Music Bank.”

KBS recently stated on the viewer petition board their reasoning why Xiumin never appeared on their Music Bank.

Regarding Xiumin’s appearance, they explained, “The production team had been in discussions with Xiumin’s side about his appearance ahead of the broadcast. However, we understand that during the process, there were differences in direction and expectations.”

KBS stated, “‘Music Bank’ is open to all agencies and artists, and the lineup is determined based on communication with singers who wish to appear, taking into account various factors such as stage composition and the program’s flow.”

They continued, “Due to limited broadcast time and production conditions, we ask for your generous understanding that it is difficult to accept all appearance requests. We sympathize with the disappointment of fans who were waiting for Xiumin’s stage, and we will do our best so that more artists can meet their fans through ‘Music Bank’ in the future.”

Previously, last month, Xiumin’s agency ONE HUNDRED stated, “Recently, KBS unofficially conveyed the stance that it would be impossible for Xiumin to appear on KBS2’s ‘Music Bank’ or other programs featuring SM Entertainment artists simultaneously. We believe that a public broadcaster is blocking appearances not for musical or any other reasons, but due to interests with a specific agency.”

To this, KBS refuted, “That claim is not true, and the ‘Music Bank’ side has been continuously communicating with Xiumin’s agency.”

Afterwards, a netizen posted a petition on the KBS viewer petition board requesting a transparent response regarding Xiumin’s failed appearance on “Music Bank.”
