Korean Rapper Involved In Jessi’s Entourage Assault Case Edited Out Of A Show
Koala, who has been accused of assaulting a fan of singer Jessi, has been cut from a TV show.
On the 25th of October, the production team of the TVING original hip-hop survival show “RAP: PUBLIC” stated, “Koala’s scenes have been edited out from the episodes released since Episode 4, and future episodes will also be edited accordingly.”
Koala, known for collaborating with Jessi on songs like “NUNU NANA” and “What Type of X,” had been appearing on the show as part of the 6Block team. However, controversy arose after a fan assault incident in Apgujeong, Gangnam, on September 29. During the incident, a minor had asked Jessi for a photo, which Jessi declined, after which a man accompanying Jessi allegedly assaulted the fan. CCTV footage showed Jessi attempting to stop the assault before leaving the scene, drawing criticism.
Following this, additional footage was released showing Koala, who has worked with Jessi, appearing to hit the victim in the stomach, leading to further backlash. There were also reports suggesting that Koala has tattoos of “KOS,” an abbreviation associated with the LA Korean-American gang “Korean Outlaws,” raising suspicions about his potential gang affiliation.
Meanwhile, Jessi appeared at the Gangnam Police Station on the 16th for about six hours of questioning and later issued an apology statement.
