Former Kpop Idol Suffers Burn Injuries Following Skin Procedure, Shows Shocking Damage To Her Face
Former AOA member and actress Kwon Mina shared that she suffered burn injuries following a skin procedure.
On the 8th of February, Kwon Mina posted on her Instagram, “On January 24, 2026, I suddenly had many good opportunities and appointments scheduled from late January to February, so I wanted to look prettier and received 600 shots of Shrink lifting under sedation.”
Along with the post, she revealed photos showing severe burns on both cheeks and her neck. She explained, “When I woke up, I felt pain like my skin was tearing, and I cried. I said I wanted to look in the mirror, and my skin was peeling layer by layer from the burns, curling upward, with oozing and blisters. It was truly devastating.”
She continued, “Since last month, they did not ask for a sedation consent form, procedure guidance consent form, or even about taking photos. I never received a skin consultation or diagnosis before the procedure. There was naturally no explanation either, and they said since I signed a consent form in October 2025, they could not receive one every time I visited.” She added, “Even though I received different procedures each time, I have never signed a consent form here regarding Shrink, its effects, or side effects.”
She went on to say, “The effects and side effects would naturally be different. They said they did not violate medical law. Then I guess they didn’t violate it? I don’t know either. Because of this incident, I started having panic attacks. My mother eventually saw my face and cried. I felt heartbroken,” adding that she had been apologizing daily while postponing or canceling schedules and ended up in tears.
Kwon Mina also expressed, “I don’t know when the burn treatment or scar treatment will end. It’s so upsetting that I have to miss so many opportunities. Why do opportunities come at times like this? I don’t even know why my life is going this way. Is being born a sin?” She added, “A deep second-degree burn really is extremely painful.”
She further stated, “I am also a victim in a case that has been in trial for over four years. Whether it’s civil or criminal lawsuits, I am in the position of a victim. At this point, I honestly feel envious of perpetrators. I wish the law in our country would consider the dignity of victims just as much as it considers the dignity of perpetrators.”
Kwon Mina debuted in 2012 as a member of AOA and left the group in 2019, later transitioning into acting.
