One Of The Biggest Kpop Idols Announces Hiatus Due To Neck Injury, Was The Choreography To Blame?
LE SSERAFIM member Kim Chaewon will temporarily halt activities due to a neck injury.
On the 19th of May, Source Music released an official statement through social media regarding Kim Chaewon’s health condition and upcoming schedule.
The agency stated, “Kim Chaewon recently received hospital treatment due to neck pain, and medical staff advised that she needs to rest for a certain period while monitoring her recovery progress.”
They continued, “Placing the artist’s health and safety as our top priority, and after comprehensively considering medical advice and the artist’s condition, we determined that it is necessary for her to focus on sufficient recovery in order to continue activities in a more stable condition.”
As a result, Kim Chaewon will be unable to participate in previously scheduled activities including university festivals, Spotify PURE FLOWERS LIVE, and music show promotions.
Previously, LE SSERAFIM pre-released “CELEBRATION” on the 24th ahead of the release of their second full-length album. While fans welcomed the song, some expressed concerns over the intense choreography featuring aggressive headbanging after the stage performance was revealed, with some calling on the agency to modify the choreography.
The controversy intensified further after recent livestreams appeared to show members complaining about neck pain, making fans even more upset over Kim Chaewon’s injury-related hiatus.
LE SSERAFIM is set to release their second full-length album “PUREFLOW pt.1” on various online music platforms on the 22nd at 1 p.m.
Source Music added, “We will actively support the artist so she can focus entirely on her recovery, and future schedules will be adjusted flexibly depending on her condition.”
They concluded, “We will do our utmost to help Kim Chaewon recover her health and greet fans again in good condition. We sincerely thank fans for always sending unwavering love and support to LE SSERAFIM.”
