The agency of the group LE SSERAFIM, Source Music, has filed a lawsuit for damages against Min Hee Jin, CEO of ADOR.

On the 15th of July, legal circles reported that Source Music recently filed a lawsuit at the Seoul Western District Court, demanding compensation of approximately 500 million won [$361,360] for damages caused by defamation, business interference, and insult by Min.

The lawsuit amount reflects only part of the damage incurred by Source Music, indicating the possibility of future increases.

Source Music highlighted three main issues in their complaint: Min’s claim that she personally cast the members of NewJeans, her unilateral breach of the promise to debut NewJeans as HYBE’s first girl group, and her accusation that Source Music neglected the members of NewJeans.

It is widely known that some NewJeans members were former trainees of Source Music. Min Hee Jin claimed that Source Music neglected these members and also took issue with LE SSERAFIM debuting before NewJeans during her press conference.

Source Music argued that Min’s statements caused severe negative comments and rumors that LE SSERAFIM received preferential treatment and harmed other teams, leading to significant damage.

Source Music reportedly submitted evidence with their lawsuit to prove Min’s statements false. The evidence includes instances where Min, as the brand manager, delayed tasks, causing the debut schedule of NewJeans to be postponed, and situations where Min acknowledged LE SSERAFIM would debut before NewJeans.

In addition to Source Music, BELIFT LAB, the agency of I’LL-IT, also filed a complaint against Min Hee Jin last month, refuting her allegations of NewJeans plagiarism and accusing her of business interference and defamation.
