Veteran Hip-Hop Artist Says G-Dragon’s Recent Song Was ‘Below My Expectations’ Drawing Mixed Reactions From Fans

Known Hip-hop artist DJ DOC member Lee Haneul recently shared his thoughts on fellow artists’ music through his personal channel which gained much attention among some kpop fans.

In a video titled “Uploading the Time Capsule Concert Scene from a Week Ago,” Lee Haneul discussed upcoming plans for his own music while driving and commented on Rose’s track Apt. He described the song as a major success, saying, “‘Apt‘ is the biggest hit since ‘Gangnam Style.’ I can’t even hear or notice the music other singers are releasing now.”

During the video, he humorously reflected on delaying his album release, considering it fortunate timing to avoid competing with such a hit.

Lee Haneul also spoke about G-Dragon’s new song Power through a short video. While expressing his respect for G-Dragon, he mentioned, “I respect GD, but this one fell below my expectations. I really enjoy G-Dragon’s works overall, but this time, I feel like if we had released albums at the same time, I could have competed.”

He clarified his stance, saying, “It’s not that G-Dragon’s work is bad, but our styles are just different,” emphasizing his perspective on music and artistic individuality.

His comments gained mixed reactions among fans with some expressing their disappointment and shock at his opinion while others saying he should be allowed to state how he feels about the song.
