Lee Hyori’s Father Passes Away
Singer Lee Hyori (47) has lost her father.
On the 12th of April, her father, Lee Joong Gwang, passed away. The funeral hall has been set up at Room 1 of the funeral hall at Chung-Ang University Hospital in Seoul. The funeral procession will take place at 7 a.m. on the 14th of April, and the burial site will be at the family cemetery in Eumseong County, North Chungcheong Province. Lee Hyori is listed as the chief mourner alongside her husband Lee Sang Soon.
Previously, on the tvN program “Canada Check-In” (2022), Lee Hyori shared that her father had been battling an illness. She said, “I should contact my mom often, but I don’t end up doing it because we only talk about difficult things. My father, who is ill, says he hasn’t forgotten me,” while expressing that she was moved by how her mother cared for him until the end, even shedding tears.
Lee Hyori debuted in 1998 as a member of Fin.K.L and later received great love as a solo artist. In her 2008 album “It’s Hyorish,” she included the track “Barbershop Owner’s Daughter,” which told the story of her father, who ran a barbershop.
She married singer Lee Sang Soon in 2013.
May his soul rest in peace.
