MAMAMOO’s Hwasa Indirectly Addresses Viral Dating Rumors With A Businessman In His 40s

Singer Hwasa has indirectly denied rumors about dating a businessman in his 40s.

On March 5, the YouTube channel Narae-sik released a video titled Will Yeounpa Be Able to Date This Year? Girls’ Night, Ideal Types, Tarot Reading for Love, Behind-the-Scenes of Yeounpa, and Hwasa’s North American Tour.

In the video, Park Narae suggested inviting actor Kim Jae Wook to Han Hye Jin’s birthday party. Han Hye Jin shared, “During Lunar New Year, I was drinking and watching an episode featuring Kim Jae Wook. It made me nostalgic, so I rewatched an old denim ad we shot together and texted him to wish him a happy new year.”

Park Narae and Hwasa teased her, saying, “That’s such a foxy move” and “You should’ve set a date,” implying there was some romantic tension. Han Hye Jin laughed and responded, “What’s there to be excited about between friends? You two need to start dating already.”

The three talked about having a couples’ gathering, but Hwasa pointed out, “Aren’t all three of us single?” This indirect statement seemed to refute the dating rumors.

Hwasa’s dating rumors first surfaced in June of 2023. Reports claimed she had been dating a businessman 12 years her senior for five years, having met him when he worked in the music industry. Allegedly, Hwasa had been the one to pursue the relationship. However, due to their age difference and the contrast between being a celebrity and a non-public figure, A hesitated at first.

At the time, Hwasa’s agency neither confirmed nor denied the rumors. However, her recent comment about being single suggests she is not in a relationship.
