Min Hee Jin Will Sue Dispatch, HYBE And Source Music Over New Shocking Dispatch Exclusive Report
Ador’s CEO Min Hee Jin has announced plans for legal action in response to reports that she intentionally delayed the debut process of NewJeans to wrest control from Source Music, she plans on taking legal action against Dispatch, HYBE and Source Music.
Min’s side has dismissed these allegations as false, stating that the reports are based on fabricated information.
The controversy began with a report by Dispatch titled “The Story Behind Min Hee Jin Taking NewJeans,” which claimed that Min deliberately stalled the debut of NewJeans, originally Source Music trainees, to take them under her control. The report also suggested that Min consulted a shaman during this period, spending millions of won on rituals.
In response, Ador issued a statement on the 23rd of July, refuting the Dispatch article as a fabrication and announcing strong legal measures. They emphasized that the claims of Min neglecting the debut of the trainees, known as N Team, were unfounded and that any delays were not due to her actions.
Dispatch alleged that N Team was prepared to debut with the song “Attention” and that Source Music had them practice songs, choreography, and languages, but the debut was delayed because branding materials only existed in Min Hee Jin’s mind. Ador countered this by stating that the entire article was based on falsehoods, distorting facts and timelines, and damaging the reputations of Ador, NewJeans, and Min Hee Jin.
Regarding the shaman consultation, Ador pointed out that Min Hee Jin’s laptop, which was returned to Hybe after being wiped, was likely forensically examined, which they assert is a serious crime and an illegal act.
They criticized Hybe for allegedly storing private conversations on their cloud servers, viewing this as a violation of personal and communication freedoms.
Ador called on Hybe’s management to cease unnecessary pressure on their subsidiary and avoid further conflicts. They also expressed their willingness to cooperate with police investigations while warning against any future illegal activities.
In response to this statement and another previous statement in which ADOR tackle each Dispatch claim directly, Source Music has issued another response stating they’re planning further legal action against her.
On the 23rd, Source Music released an official statement saying, “Min Hee Jin’s statement distributed today includes false claims related to Source Music. Therefore, we are compelled to clarify the accurate facts.”
Source Music’s stance is as follows:
- Min Hee Jin’s assertion that Source Music copied her launch strategy is false. Source Music has never copied her strategy nor acknowledged any complaints from her.
- The opinion presented by Chairman Bang Si-hyuk in May 2020 was not about Team N but rather a new team to be formed under the label Min Hee-jin was to establish. Min Hee Jin is distorting the facts by suggesting that Bang’s opinion was to implement her strategy through Team N.
Source Music further stated that they would pursue strong legal action against Min Hee Jin for spreading false information, in addition to the ongoing damages lawsuit. They also expressed willingness to disclose any necessary documents to uncover the truth.
