Is Former LE SSERAFIM Member Kim Garam Signing With New Agency? They Had This To Say
Agency Modenberry Korea has addressed the reports regarding exclusive contract discussions with former LE SSERAFIM member Kim Garam.
On June 11, a media outlet reported that Kim Garam was positively negotiating an exclusive contract with Modenberry Korea. However, the agency has refuted this claim.
A representative from Modenberry Korea briefly stated to News1, “This is completely untrue.”
Previously, in April of 2022, allegations of school bullying involving Kim Garam surfaced online. An anonymous netizen released screenshots of a messenger conversation with an informant who claimed that Kim Garam bullied classmates, extorted money from fellow students during middle school, and engaged in underage drinking and smoking.
At the time, HYBE and its sub-label Source Music, which represented LE SSERAFIM, issued an official statement denying the allegations, emphasizing that they would hold those spreading false information legally accountable. Kim Garam went on to make her official debut with LE SSERAFIM in May 2022.
However, a school violence committee report later surfaced, presented as evidence related to the bullying allegations. As public opinion turned negative, Kim Garam temporarily halted her activities.
Eventually, in July 2022, HYBE and Source Music announced in an official statement, “We have decided to terminate Kim Garam’s exclusive contract,” and added, “We sincerely apologize to the fans and everyone affected by the controversy surrounding Kim Garam.”
In August of that year, Kim Garam stated, “I have never hit or used violence against anyone. I was never forced to transfer schools, never drank or smoked, and never bullied or ostracized anyone. I was just an ordinary student.”
Do you think Kim Garam should come back to the industry?
