NCT Dream Renews Contract With SM Entertainment
NCT Dream has renewed its contract with current agency SM Entertainment.
On August 20th, SM Entertainment stated, “Members Haechan, Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung, following Haechan who had already completed his re-signing, renewed their contracts based on deep trust in each other and unwavering affection for the team, and will continue to move forward together with the company.”
They added, “We will continue to provide unwavering support so that NCT Dream’s limitless potential can shine even brighter, standing by them as a reliable partner,” and continued, “We ask for your continued expectations and unchanging support for the group’s diverse activities in the second half of this year.”
NCT Dream debuted in 2016 with the digital single “Chewing Gum,” and went on to release numerous hit songs including “Candy,” “Go,” “Hello Future,” “Music Box,” “ISTJ,” “Without You,” “Polaris,” “Beatbox,” “Smoothie,” “Broken Melodies,” and “Burn,” earning widespread love from K-pop listeners.
This past April, Mark left the team, which also brought the NCT Dream unit’s activities to a close at the time. Following that, Haechan, Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, and Chenle completed their re-signing, and NCT Dream moved forward as a six-member lineup.
This comes not long after fellow labelmate WinWin left both NCT and SM Entertainment entirely, making SM’s continued efforts to retain the rest of the group’s lineup a point of interest for fans.
