A complaint has been filed regarding popular kpop idol WINNER member Lee Seunghoon’s dance during a ceremonial first pitch.

On the 29th of August, a netizen filed a complaint, stating, “I strongly urge KBO Commissioner Heo Gu Yeon to immediately send a directive to all teams to prevent ‘inappropriate first pitches that disrupt the flow of the game,’ and to thoroughly devise countermeasures.”

On the 28th, Lee Seunghoon participated as the first-pitch thrower in the game between the Lotte Giants and the Hanwha Eagles at Busan’s Sajik Baseball Stadium.

A Busan native, Lee Seunghoon exclaimed, “Lotte WINNER has arrived. Cheer for the Giants’ victory! I’m here to inject WINNER’s victory spirit into you all!”

He then pretended to throw the ball, but instead, danced on the mound for 18 seconds. Moreover, it seemed that this performance was not prearranged with the catcher, Son Seongbin, as Son twice assumed a catching stance, but no ball was thrown.

Eventually, when Lee Seunghoon did throw the ball, it hit the home plate and bounced high, going past Son Seongbin, who had to stand up to retrieve it.

This led to divided response, some found the clip funny but others criticized his actions and said they were “inappropriate” and “could disrupt the flow of the game,” which ultimately resulted in a formal complaint being filed.

However, Lee Seunghoon expressed satisfaction by uploading a video of his first pitch on his personal account with the caption, “First pitch for Lotte Giants.”
