BREAKING: NewJeans Announce Their Departure From ADOR, To Terminate Exclusive Contract
NewJeans explained the reasons for their decision to terminate their exclusive contracts.
At an emergency press conference held on the 28th of November in Gangnam, Seoul, NewJeans stated, “We won’t hide, nor do we feel the need to. We want to work freely, happily, and comfortably.”
The members officially announced, “As of November 29, our exclusive contracts with HYBE and ADOR will be terminated.”
Hyein said, “We were hurt and shocked by media manipulation. We’ve already witnessed too many instances of false information being greatly exaggerated to mislead the public.” She explained their loss of trust in ADOR’s current leadership after Min Hee Jin’s departure.
Hanni added, “We’ve had extensive discussions and agreed this was the best course of action. After making the decision, we moved forward confidently.” She shared that their parents were highly supportive, noting, “It’s absurd to face such circumstances, but we won’t hide because we don’t need to. We just want to continue working freely, happily, and comfortably, which is why we’re terminating our contracts.”
On the 13th, the members had sent an official notice under their real names to ADOR. Their demands included reinstating Min Hee Jin as ADOR’s representative, thoroughly investigating and addressing inaccuracies in HYBE’s internal documents, and an official apology for a manager’s “dismissive” remarks toward Hanni.
The members declared they would terminate their contracts if these issues weren’t addressed. During the press conference, NewJeans stated, “The requested corrections were not made,” officially confirming their contract termination.
