Despite announcing NewJeans’ return, ADOR had this to say about Minji’s return to the group.

NewJeans released a special film marking their fourth debut anniversary through the group’s official YouTube channel on July 22. The video captures a cool summer night under moonlight, with Minji, followed one by one by Hanni, Hyein, and Haerin, making their way toward “Bunnies.”

Regarding the content, ADOR said, “We wanted to bring together the hearts of the members, who wanted to celebrate their debut anniversary with the fans who have waited so long,” adding, “We hope Bunnies will enjoy this with warm feelings.”

Since Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni had already returned to the agency following the resolution of their exclusive contract dispute, while no official word had come on Minji’s return, the video’s release fueled speculation that it effectively signaled Minji’s comeback as well.

The agency, however, drew a line under that speculation, stating, “The specific activity plans and format for NewJeans will be announced once discussions with the members have been fully concluded,” and adding, “This content was produced to celebrate NewJeans’ fourth debut anniversary together with fans.”

NewJeans became embroiled in a legal dispute in November 2024 after declaring the termination of their exclusive contract, citing fault on ADOR’s part, but the lawsuit concluded in ADOR’s favor in October of last year, after which Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni returned to the agency. Danielle, who was notified by ADOR of her contract’s termination, is continuing a separate damages lawsuit that includes a contractual penalty claim.
