NewJeans Tell Fans They’re Taking Suggestions For Temporary Group Name To Use + State They’re Never Coming Back To HYBE And ADOR
NewJeans have released a new statement to reiterate they’re never coming back to HYBE or ADOR and announce to fans they’re taking suggestions for a group name to use temporarily.
On January 23, NewJeans members issued a joint statement via their new Instagram account. In the statement, they expose HYBE and ADOR for trying to divide them by meeting with family members, for using “cowardly tactics, defamation, and media manipulation” to turn the public against them and more.
NewJeans also promise they will fight it in court and have stated they’ve appointed a legal representative.
Additionally, after publishing that statement, the members also took to their Instagram account to announce that they are taking suggestions for a new group name to use temporarily.
In response to this, ADOR stated, “ADOR’s position is that the exclusive contract remains valid, and we are sincerely complying with the court procedures. We find it regrettable that the members are attempting independent entertainment activities, such as soliciting new activity names, before a legal judgment is made, as this could constitute a significant breach of contract.”

We have confirmed through the media that ADOR has filed a “lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract” against us, along with an “injunction to preserve agency status and prohibit advertising contract agreements.” A few days ago, we received the complaint and application, and we have appointed Shin & Kim LLC as our legal representative.
HYBE and ADOR have failed to fulfill their fundamental duties as an agency to protect and support the growth of their artists.
Throughout our activities, there were constant large and small interferences, and they essentially abandoned us, disguising threats like “halting our entertainment careers” under the term “extended leave.”
Even after the lawful termination of our exclusive contract, we have been subject to baseless criticisms in the media and on YouTube channels. Much of this information could not have been known without being provided by ADOR and HYBE. These actions make it clear that ADOR and HYBE are at the center of this situation.
While publicly calling for us to return, ADOR and HYBE have continuously harassed and attacked us in less visible ways.
Recently, they even attempted to secretly meet with some of our parents to persuade or manipulate them.
We hope they stop resorting to underhanded tactics like tarnishing us, causing division, and spreading false information to manipulate public opinion. Instead, they should resolve this situation truthfully and fairly.
Let us state this clearly and firmly:
The five of us have no intention of ever returning to HYBE or ADOR, who cannot even uphold the minimum level of trustworthiness.
Even after terminating the exclusive contract, we sought to conclude our remaining schedules and agreements as amicably as possible to avoid disputes and minimize harm to any stakeholders. However, after witnessing HYBE and ADOR continue to harm us and others through unethical actions, we have decided to no longer remain silent.
We will pursue legal proceedings to reveal the wrongdoing of HYBE and ADOR and to bring the truth to light. We will fight confidently in court to seek justice.
To our fans who have cherished and loved us, we sincerely apologize for causing you concern. However, we will persevere through proper means to freely share our music with you again as soon as possible. Thank you for your unwavering support.
