Ok Taecyeon’s Private Wedding Photos Leaked, Non-celebrity Bride’s Face Also Leaked, Fans Furious
The unauthorized spread of private wedding photos of actor and 2PM member Ok Taecyeon has sparked controversy over invasion of privacy.
Ok Taecyeon held a wedding ceremony with his non-celebrity partner, who is four years his junior, on the 24th at the Shilla Hotel Yeongbin-gwan in Jangchung-dong, Seoul. The two are known to have dated for approximately 10 years, and the ceremony was held privately with only family and close acquaintances in attendance, out of consideration for the bride being a non-celebrity.
Previously, he personally announced his marriage news through a handwritten letter in November of last year. At that time, his agency also stated, “The wedding will be held quietly with only the families, relatives, and close acquaintances of both parties invited,” maintaining the position that specific details would not be disclosed.
The wedding was hosted by fellow group member Hwang Chansung, and the members added special meaning by performing a congratulatory song. With this, Ok Taecyeon becomes the second married member of the team, following Hwang Chansung, who married in 2022.
The issue arose after the ceremony. Photos appearing to be from the wedding venue spread rapidly across Chinese social media and online communities. Some posts reportedly included descriptions claiming that hotel guests had filmed and uploaded scenes visible from their room windows.
The controversy has grown because the wedding was intended to be private. In particular, since the non-celebrity bride’s face and scenes from the ceremony were distributed without any consent, criticism regarding the invasion of privacy is continuing.
Meanwhile, Ok Taecyeon plans to continue his group activities after marriage. 2PM will hold their 15th-anniversary solo concert “The Return” at the Tokyo Dome in Japan on May 9 and 10, standing on a local stage as a full group for the first time in about 10 years.
