Rappers Ash Island and Chanmina have simultaneously announced their marriage and pregnancy.
On the 7th of July, Ash Island posted on his Instagram, “Chanmina and I have promised to spend our lives together. She means so much to me, and I am incredibly grateful and happy to become a family with her, who has always been my greatest support in every way.”
He continued, “An even more joyous news is that a new life has come to us. I am immensely grateful for this and am also very happy and thankful to be able to share this happiness with many people.” He added, “I will do my best to share the love I have received from everyone with many others in the future.”
Chanmina also shared the news on her account, announcing her marriage to Ash Island and saying, “I am very happy to become a family with the person who is my irreplaceable partner in life, my most beloved person, and my dear friend.”
Announcing her pregnancy, she expressed, “I am extremely happy and grateful for this news. We will work together to build a wonderful family. Please watch over us warmly.” She also vowed, “I will strive to be a great mother and live diligently.” She mentioned that her upcoming live performances and events would proceed smoothly with the help of many people.
Ash Island, who gained fame under the name Yoon Jin Young on Mnet’s “High School Rapper 2” with his distinctive yellow hair, later established his own musical world under the name Ash Island, earning recognition in the hip-hop scene.
Japanese-Korean Gen Z rapper Chanmina first made a name for herself with her unique performances on Japan’s rap battle program “High School RAP Championship.” She featured in Taeyeon’s Japanese mini-album #GirlsSpkOut in 2020, Kang Daniel’s first Japanese EP track “Loser” in 2022, and Yena’s Japanese debut single “Smiley” Japanese version last year. She has been actively promoting in Korea with Korean singles such as “Don’t Go” in 2022, “Mirror,” and last year’s “Biscuit.”
