Red Velvet’s Joy recently took a shot at her agency, SM Entertainment. With no news of a new contract between Joy and SM Entertainment, fans have been discussing what the future might be.

Red Velvet made a comeback on the 24th with their new album ‘Cosmic’. This album, celebrating Red Velvet’s 10th debut anniversary, showcased its power by topping the iTunes Top Album Chart in 41 regions around the world, including the US, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan. However, there were some uncertainties from the start, such as delays in the release of the title track’s music video due to delays in post-production.

Upon seeing this, Joy expressed her dissatisfaction openly. In a paid fan communication platform, Joy responded to a request for a music video reaction with, “Hmm, they told us to just wait without considering our opinions, and when the video was released, there were no changes made.”

Even before the album release, Joy took a jab at SM. Red Velvet was reported for a comeback back then but the promotional material and confirmation didn’t come until after Joy’s complaint. Joy said, “I wonder how long it will remain a secret. Or did they forget to announce it? Or are they planning to reveal it next week? I’m also uncertain.”

Following Joy’s expression of dissatisfaction, fans voiced concerns about the deteriorating relationship between Joy and SM Entertainment. The members’ future plans are sensitive and important issues for Red Velvet fans. SM Entertainment renewed contracts with Seulgi in August of last year and Irene in February of this year, but there has been no news about Joy, Wendy, and Yeri’s contract renewals, making the future of Red Velvet as a whole uncertain.
