Red Velvet’s Seugli Issues Apology For Wearing Manager’s Shoes At Airport After Some Netizens Allege ‘Power Trip’
Red Velvet member Seulgi has apologized for the controversy surrounding her recent behavior with her manager.
On the 13th of July, Seulgi posted a message on her SNS saying, “I am sorry to my manager and many others for disappointing you with yesterday’s incident at the airport.”
Seulgi was addressing the incident the day prior when she was embroiled in controversy for wearing sneakers that her manager had worn, while her manager was wearing the high heels she was supposed to wear, which led to accusations of mistreatment.
Some netizens criticized Seulgi’s actions, calling them an abuse of power. They commented, “The manager looks pitiful,” “If she is uncomfortable, wouldn’t the manager be too?” “She should have prepared extra shoes to change into,” and “Is being a celebrity a privilege?” Others pointed out that the manager looked struggling, carrying many items while wearing high heels.
However, many others argued that it is insufficient to suspect abuse of power based on the partial view shown in the video. They emphasized that without knowing the context in which the two exchanged shoes, making such an interpretation could be risky.

I apologize to my manager and everyone who was disappointed due to the incident at the airport yesterday.
Recently, while practicing, my feet developed blisters and wounds. The shoes I wore at the airport had high heels, which I thought would be fine, so I didn’t bring extra sneakers, which was my carelessness.
As I walked, the wounds on my feet worsened. Upon arriving in Kaohsiung, my manager, seeing me struggle to walk, suggested switching shoes temporarily to avoid any strain before the performance.
I apologize for making a hasty and poor decision without considering other options when my feet hurt. I regret disappointing people and causing distress to my manager. I have personally apologized to my manager and will be more careful in the future to prevent such incidents.
