Park Bom Accuses Sandara Park Of Drug Use And Says In Order To Cover It Up, YG Blamed It On Her, Sandara Park Denies
Sandara Park of 2NE1 has unexpectedly been accused of drug-related allegations by fellow member Park Bom, while it was also confirmed that her exclusive contract with her agency has expired.
On the 3rd of March, Park Bom posted a handwritten letter on her SNS, claiming, “Park Sandara got caught for drugs and, in order to cover it up, turned Park Bom into a drug addict.”
Park Bom released a lengthy handwritten letter beginning with “To the citizens.” She opened by saying, “I am not sick and am doing well while working hard,” before sharing that she wanted to speak cautiously about a frightening matter.
Referring to the psychotropic medication Adderall, she explained, “This is not a drug. I am an ADD patient and have attention deficit disorder. Park Sandara was caught for drugs, and to cover that up, they turned Park Bom into a drug addict.”
In her post, Park Bom referenced the controversy from 16 years ago involving the importation of Adderall and claimed that she was labeled a drug addict to cover up alleged drug issues related to Sandara Park.
Park Bom added, “At the time, there was no specific medication category or law regarding Adderall in the country, but strangely, after Park Bom, a law was created. Lastly, to YG, Yang Hyun Suk, Teddy, and Lee Chae Rin (CL), please do not report to the country that Park Bom used more than the prescribed amount of a drug I have not used even once in 30 years.”
Regarding the matter, Abyss Company, which had been Sandara Park’s agency, told SPOTV News, “Sandara Park’s exclusive contract has currently expired, so it is difficult for us to confirm the matter.”
Later, a close associate of Sandara Park told Edaily that the claims are “groundless.” The associate also added briefly, “Sandara Park is currently worried about Park Bom’s health.”
The post spread rapidly, garnering more than 5,000 comments within about three hours of being published. Park Bom deleted the post around 5 p.m. KST. However, approximately four hours later, at around 9 p.m., she reposted the same content, intensifying the controversy.
Rather than criticism, the comment section was filled mostly with concern and support. Fans left messages such as “Health comes first,” “Are you okay?” and “I hope you recover.”
With the post being deleted and then reuploaded, concerns are once again growing over Park Bom’s health condition and her future activities.
Park Bom debuted in 2009 as a member of 2NE1 under YG Entertainment. After the group disbanded in 2016, she left the agency and continued solo activities under D-Nation Entertainment. Following 2NE1’s reunion last year, she collaborated again with YG Entertainment for an Asia tour but has since temporarily suspended all activities in August due to health issues.
