Highly Underrated Girl Group Announces The Departure Of 4 Members In The Span Of Less Than 2 Days, Why?

The girl group Secret Number has made headlines after their agency, VINE Entertainment, issued two statements to announce members have departed both the agency and the group.

On April 3, the agency released their first statement announcing the departure of Léa from the group and the agency. They wrote, “The exclusive contract period of Léa, who has showcased her shining talents as a member of SECRET NUMBER, has ended as of April 2, 2025. First and foremost, we would like to express our gratitude to Léa for her hard work and dedication to the fans. While her activities with SECRET NUMBER have come to an end, we will continue to sincerely support Léa’s bright future.”

Then on April 4, Dita, Jinny, and Minji have jointly released a statement to announce they’ve also departed both the group and the agency. They wrote in their statement something that fans found odd, they said, “under the current situation, it would be extremely difficult for us to move forward.”

Notably, the group debuted on May 19, 2020 and going by standard kpop contracts, the validity is usually 7 years. Fans are upset to hear the news but wish members all the best.

An excerpt from Dita, Jinny, and Minji joint statement:

After much deliberation, we have expressed our intention to terminate our exclusive contracts with Vine Entertainment. As the agency has also decided not to maintain the contracts any further, we would like to inform you that our contract with Vine Entertainment had been officially terminated, and therefore, official activities as Secret Number have now come to an end.

We’ve always gave our very best, but despite numerous discussions, we ultimately came to a conclusion that under the current situation, it would be extremely difficult for us to move forward.

After careful consideration, we made the tough decision to conclude our contracts.
