Super Junior’s Shindong surprised fans by revealing a bit more about his family history.

In episode 8 of Fortune War 49, released on the 25th, six fortune tellers who survived competed by giving one-on-one readings to celebrities.

Fortune teller Seolhwa asked Shindong, “Wasn’t there a shaman in your family, maybe your grandmother?” Shindong replied, “My paternal grandmother.”

Seolhwa cautiously said, “When that grandmother passes away, it could become a bit dangerous. It seems like someone is trying to make you hold the ritual bells. It’s not that you’ll receive a spirit, but you have strong spiritual and ancestral energy. There is someone in your family who was a shaman, and that grandmother is influencing you.”

Regarding Shindong’s future fortune, Seolhwa said, “It suits you to live dancing and singing like a talented entertainer, but it’s too weak to live only like that,” adding, “Starting this year, your business luck has opened.”

She continued, “Right now, there’s a lot of energy of money leaking out, so you need to be careful. For some reason, money keeps breaking apart. You’re not meant to directly cook food yourself, but to be the owner. You have strong luck related to food, so if you start a business in the food industry, it will be the best.”

The broadcast also revealed a past story about Shindong’s mother. A caption read, “In 2015, his mother lost all her assets due to a failed investment.”

Shindong confessed, “To be honest, I’m not in contact with my parents right now. The reason is money. When I gave them living expenses, they asked for it all at once instead of monthly. There were times when they took a large sum and got scammed or made bad investments and lost everything.”

He added, “I’ve said many times on broadcasts that I want to get married, and there was actually a time when I almost did. Since I was young, I really wanted to experience marriage. I think it settled in my heart as something that equals happiness.”
