SHINee’s Key Admits To Taking Injections From “Injection Aunt,” Halts All Entertainment Activities
SHINee’s member Key has broken his silence and stated his position regarding the so-called “Park Na Rae injection aunt involvement” allegations.
On the afternoon of the 17th of December, his agency SM Entertainment, spoke out about the relationship between Key and the person referred to as “Park Na Rae’s injection aunt,” identified as Lee. The agency stated, “Key was introduced through a recommendation from an acquaintance and visited a hospital located in Gangnam District where Lee was working, and that was when he first knew him as a doctor.”
It was then acknowledged that Key had received illegal medical treatment. SM Entertainment explained, “Key continued to receive treatment at that hospital afterward, and in situations where it was difficult to visit the hospital recently, he received treatment at home on several occasions. At the time, he believed Lee to be a doctor, and since there was no particular explanation given by Lee, he did not think that receiving treatment at home would be a problem.”
They continued, “Key recently became aware for the first time, through the controversy surrounding Lee’s medical license, that Lee is not actually a doctor, and he is feeling extremely confused. He is deeply reflecting on his own lack of awareness.”
In particular, SM Entertainment announced not only Key’s departure from the MBC program “I Live Alone,” but also that he would suspend his activities. The agency stated, “Accordingly, Key has recognized the seriousness of this matter and has decided to step down from his currently scheduled activities and programs he is appearing on,” adding, “Once again, we sincerely apologize to fans and everyone else for causing concern.”
Key also released his own statement to Instagram, he wrote,
Hello, this is Key.
I sincerely apologize for causing concern to many people due to the various stories surrounding me lately.
I was also confused and taken aback by the facts I newly came to learn, and I am sorry that I was unable to organize my position more quickly and explain what I plan to do going forward as soon as possible.
I had been confident that I could stay far away from matters like this, but I think that mindset prevented me from looking more wisely at my surroundings. I feel deeply sorry and ashamed toward the many people who trusted and supported me.
In relation to this incident, I will sincerely do everything that I am able to do. I will take time once again to reflect on myself and my surroundings.
Once again, I sincerely apologize.
